The hand-carved details are distinct and beautiful. Two small round rubber shelf protecting feet are attached to the bottom of the base. We believe this was more to keep the gentleman level and less for shel;f protection because they appear only on one half of the base.
I’m not too sure why you cannot, but this is the only way that I know.
