Hard Stone

This is a special art deco cabinet piece featuring a silver and hard stone duck. The duck has a carved rhodochrosite body with a silver mounted tail and head. In his head is inlaid lapis for eyes and inlaid lapis strip as a top knot. He is swimming on a piece of irregular shaped black onyx. I don’t think it has any marks and we did not take it off the onyx. This is a little work of art. Condition: excellent for age and normal use. Measurements: duck approximately 1 inch tall x 1 1/2 inches wide and 15/16 inches deep. Base irregular 3 1/2 inches long x 2/3/4 inches wide. Weight: 6.7 oz. 191 g Origin: unknown Circa: 1920
