For auction is a Lefton Colonial Village figurine, number 00269 titled The Davinci Brothers Caroling. It was produced in Sri Lanka in 1991 and is in perfect, undamaged condition. It is approximately 2 3/8″ wide, 1 1/8″ deep and 2 1/2″ tall. I didn’t know a thing about Lefton’s Colonial Village figurines until I inherited over 250 of them from my aunt on her passing. Every year, she set these up in several rooms of her house. Up they went on December the first and down they came on January first. Every year, the routine was the same and it took her almost as long to get them back in the right boxes as it did to set them up. Colonial Village pieces were made (from what I have read) from about 1985 through the late 1990s. The guy who dreamed them up had a real imagination. Each building comes with a story of the imaginary people who lived in or frequented them. Also, the houses actually come with deeds. Some have provisions for being lit with a normal Christmas tree bulb. My aunt took incredible care of these and I am going to be selling them piece by piece – largely because I have them stored in a building in such a way that I’m not sure which pieces I have. Stay tuned for some that are probably hard to find since they are no longer being made. I will combine shipping on multiple purchases. (Baseshlf)
